What is 8x?
8x is a human orchestration company. Wherever there is a human in the loop, 8x supplies that person, evaluates the work and pays for it, across marketing, engineering and sales.

How the company is organised
The company is organised into verticals. Each one has a vertical lead whose focus is the value a single person can bring in that specific use case.
Every vertical runs on the same underlying principle. A large number of people are orchestrated and evaluated against one key metric for that vertical: virality potential in marketing, meetings booked in sales.
Each new vertical inherits the architecture and the experience of the ones before it, so every one starts further along than the last.
The aim is billions of people under management on 8x platforms, and a different idea of what work is.
What has been built
- 8x Social
A managed creator network. More than 250,000 creators across 50 countries make organic video for brands, with no ad spend behind it.
- 8x Sales
A remote sales floor. People learn to sell on real calls with live coaching, and are paid per booking and per qualified meeting.
- 8x Business
A B2B creator marketplace. Brands brief vetted LinkedIn creators and follow the work from impressions through to closed deals.
- 8x Research
AI-moderated user research. Hundreds of one-to-one interviews run in parallel and come back as ranked themes with the quotes behind them.
The founders
Jaka Bavdek
Co-founder and CEO
Originally from Slovenia. Has lived in London, Singapore, India and Berlin, and took a master’s degree in London. Started a first company at 17; one of those early companies became a market leader in Slovenia. Founded Epistemy and e-Matura before 8x. Now based in San Francisco.
Theo Bui
Co-founder and CTO
French-American, based in San Francisco. Has built robotic arms, software and ride-sharing apps.
The two met at Entrepreneur First, over a shared view of what building in the AI era takes: that distribution is becoming the most important thing a company has.
