A better first week

A volunteer group needed a clearer way to welcome new members. Information lived in messages, and nobody knew where to start.

My contribution
I spoke with volunteers, mapped the first-week questions, and wrote a guide that someone could follow at their own pace.
The outcome
The group adopted the guide and gave each new volunteer a named point of contact. The process is now easier to pass on.

You don’t need a job title
to have something to show.

A campaign, a codebase, a class project, a piece of writing, a better way to run a team. Show what you made, explain your part, and link to the evidence.

Keep videos, repositories, and longer stories wherever they already live. Your portfolio brings people to them.

Start with one piece of work

A few things worth knowing.

Who can create a portfolio?

Anyone with a verified account. You can show creative work, technical projects, writing, operations, learning, or a mix. You don’t need to apply for an 8x role.

What becomes public?

Only the portfolio content you choose to publish: your introduction, selected work, images, and links. Your applications and assignment submissions stay private. Your account email is never added automatically.

Can I change my mind after publishing?

Yes. Edit privately, then publish your changes when you’re ready. You can also unpublish your page while keeping your draft. Your chosen address stays fixed. Copies already saved by visitors or social sites may remain.

Do I need images or impressive numbers?

No. A clear written account of your contribution is a work sample. Personal projects and anonymized work count. Describe what happened in your own words, and share only what you have permission to make public.
